Should I

Purpose This spread answers the universal 'Should I?' question by honoring both paths before seeking higher wisdom. The Lovers (Major Arcana VI) depicts the archetypal moment of choice—Adam facing Eve and the Angel, representing earthly and divine perspectives. The Two of Swords shows the traditional image of the decision-maker blindfolded, holding two options in balance. The High Priestess (Major Arcana II) embodies the intuitive knowing that transcends logical pros and cons. This 3-position inverted triangle offers equal voice to YES and NO paths, with HIGHER_GUIDANCE above providing soul-level wisdom that may affirm, contradict, or transcend both options.

When to use it When facing a clear binary decision: accept or decline, stay or leave, speak or remain silent, act or wait. Best for questions you can phrase as 'Should I [specific action]?' Particularly valuable when logic and emotion conflict, or when you know what you want to do but seek validation or warning.

When to avoid it Avoid for complex decisions with more than two options—use Three Options spread instead. Not suitable when you're not genuinely open to both answers. Skip if the question is actually about timing ('When should I?') rather than whether to act at all.

How to read it Read YES_PERSPECTIVE first to see what saying yes brings—positive cards (Sun, Aces, 9s, 10s) support yes; challenging cards (Tower, 5s, Swords) warn against it. Then read NO_PERSPECTIVE equally—what does declining offer? Finally, HIGHER_GUIDANCE above synthesizes both perspectives from soul level. If HIGHER_GUIDANCE echoes YES, that path has spiritual support. If it echoes NO, decline is wiser. If it differs from both, a third option may exist, or the question itself needs reframing. The Lovers appearing anywhere confirms this is a significant choice moment.
