Life Crossroads

Purpose This spread invokes the ancient crossroads archetype—Hecate's sacred intersection where three paths meet and life-changing choices are made. The Chariot (Major Arcana VII) teaches that at the crossroads, we must choose our direction and commit fully. The Lovers (Major Arcana VI) presents the archetypal choice moment. The Fool (Major Arcana 0) stands at the precipice before each major journey. This 7-position layout comprehensively maps major life decisions: where you stand now, the nature and outcome of Path A, the nature and outcome of Path B, soul-level counsel, and final guidance. Unlike simpler spreads, this allows deep exploration of two distinct life directions before choosing.

When to use it When facing genuinely life-changing decisions with two clear alternatives: career pivots, relocation choices, relationship commitments, major educational paths, or any fork in the road that will shape years to come. Best used when you have time to contemplate—these are not urgent decisions but transformative ones requiring full consideration of consequences.

When to avoid it Avoid for everyday decisions or when the two paths aren't genuinely distinct—this spread's power lies in comparing truly different life directions. Not suitable when you've already committed and are seeking retroactive validation. Skip if one option is clearly unviable—this spread assumes both paths are genuinely possible.

How to read it Begin with CURRENT_POSITION to understand where you truly stand—not where you think you are or wish to be. Then explore Path A fully: NATURE shows its essential character (Wands=adventure/career, Cups=love/emotion, Swords=truth/clarity, Pentacles=stability/material), OUTCOME reveals where it leads. Repeat for Path B. Compare the two complete paths: which resonates with your current position's energy? SOUL_COUNSEL transcends both paths to reveal what your deeper self knows. GUIDANCE synthesizes everything into actionable wisdom. The Chariot appearing anywhere confirms this is a genuine crossroads moment requiring decisive commitment.
